December 12, 2009 (Porac, Pampanga)—On the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Rev. Jesus Puri Gozun, SSP was ordained priest by Archbishop Paciano Aniceto, DD of the Archdiocese of San Fernando. The Mass, which was held at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish Church, was attended by priests coming from the Society of St. Paul and the local clergy, Brothers and Seminarians, Sisters from the Pauline Family and other religious congregations, family members, relatives, friends and other well wishers. The church was filled to the full.
Arch. Aniceto reminded the ordinati that he has to keep in his heart that he is an alter Christus, that everything he does should be done in representation of Jesus to his people. He specially noted that his ordination came at a time when the Church is celebrating the Year of the Priest, thus making the event extra special. He also urged the people to take good care of the priests who live in their midst.
Before the Mass ended, Fr. Jess thanked everyone who came, especially those who journeyed with him through all these years. He mentioned that people should not see him as special, but that through the kind of life he lives, he might be able to live Jesus whom the people should see instead.
To Fr. Jess, "Tu es sacerdos in aeternum".
