City of San Fernando, Philippines — On the Solemnity of the Corpus Christi, Edward Anthony John of the Cross A. Cometa, Buen Andrew Francis Xavier d.C. Cruz, Mark LawrenceJose Ma. F. Fabregas, Michael Francesco Ma. L. Recinto, Ian Lucky John Augustine P. Sumbilla, Ren Vincent Anthony D. Villanueva and Armando John Bosco D. Vizarrra Jr. made their first profession of the vows of chastity, poverty, obedience and fidelity to the Roman Pontiff on June 7, 2015.

Provincial Superior Fr. Jose S. Aripio, SSP who presided the Eucharist, received and affirmed their vows.Fr. Leopoldo Botavara, III, SSP and Br. Dominic Egida, SSP were the official witnesses to the occasion.  Fr. Joselito Layug, SSP, our missionary to Australia delivered the homily, orienting the neo-professed of the meaning of their total surrender to the Lord and the implications of their vows.

“On the example of Jesus today,” says Superior General Fr. Valdir Jose de Castro, SSP, “each of you today offers yourself totally—mind, heart, will, strength— to God.”

He further prayed for the faithfulness and perseverance of the neo-professed saying, “ I exhort you not to lose sight of the eminently Pauline characteristic of integrality by cultivating the spiritual and communitarian, intellectual and apostolic formation.”

A meal fellowship followed.
