MANILA, PHILIPPINES— After two highly successful editions, the St. Paul National Bible Quiz is set for another year of scouring the nation for youth passionate for the Word of God. An apostolic project of the priests and brothers of the Society of St. Paul, the St. Paul National Bible Quiz 2012 was officially launched last  January 21, 2012, Saturday, at Barbara’s in Intramuros, Manila as the Philippine Church celebrated The National Bible Week.

No less than the newly installed Archbishop of Manila, Most Rev. Luis Antonio Tagle, DD, graced the occasion. Many Pauline priests and brothers, members of the Pauline family as well as  collaborators without whom this project would not have been successful came to express their support. Among them are Asia, Inc., Unionbank, SM Supermalls, Philippine Daily Inquirer, and Asia Pacific College.

In his short talk, the Archbishop lauded the Society of St. Paul for this initiative and confirmed the relevance of such a project geared toward today’s youth.

The St. Paul National Bible Quiz 2012 will hold Elimination Rounds in fifteen key locations across the country, divided into the seven regions of  Southern Luzon, Central Luzon, Northern Luzon, National Capital Region, Central Visayas/Northern Mindanao, Western Visayas, and Central Mindanao. Regional Champions will face off for the National Championship on September 15, 2012, as part of the Manila International Book Fair.
